"Pictures of Matchstick Men," by Status Quo.
Probably because I heard this in the car on the way to Christmas dinner. Catchy riff, semi-psychedelic lyrics, and quality production. What's not to like.
If a song has to be stuck in my head, might as well be this one.

Side note: I believe it was either Cracker or Camper van Beethoven who made a quality cover of this song in the 90's.

December 19. 2012

I took some ZMA before going to bed to help me sleep.  It worked.

As a result, I really didn't have a definite song rolling around in my head.  I did come across a song that tends to get stuck in my otherwise empty cranium playing on the radio this morning.  "Little Girl" by Syndicate of Sound.

Funny thing about this song is the lyrics don't really stand out when they get into my head.  It's the jangly guitar riff I find to be catchy.  Syndicate of Sound also stands out for being the band who beat out The Golliwogs in a San Jose battle of the bands.  The prize was a recording contract and release of the winning song as a single.

The Golliwogs took the loss particularly hard; went back and regrouped as Credence Clearwater Revival and were never heard from again.

Wait.

Note:  If you have some difficulty sleeping, I highly recommend ZMA (zinc, magnesium, and some other shit).  Three before bed, and you're good to go.  The dreams will be vivid as well.

Available through most vitamin shops and on eBay.

December 18, 2012

Today's song was "Let Me Go Wild," by Death By Unga Bunga.
Fun song. Decent band with my favorite all time name. The song came to me at about 3:45 a.m., but I was able to get back to sleep. Still there when I got up.

December 17, 2012

Today's song was "Pictures of Lily" by The Who.  Not sure how it got there, except maybe that I heard it like 4 times on the radio over the weekend.

It began at around 4:45 a.m. and kept me awake until 6:00, when I got up, slightly hungover, to begin the day.

Thanks, Pete.
